It’s fast — often 15–30 minutes. You self-inspect and drive away. Be prepared.
What to Bring
- Driver’s license
- Insurance (must list Tesla by VIN)
- Payment confirmation
- Phone with Tesla app installed
- A friend (second pair of eyes)
Exterior Checklist
- Paint: Scratches, chips, color inconsistencies
- Panel gaps: Run your finger along panel joints — should be even
- Glass: All windows + roof for chips/cracks
- Wheels: Curb rash from transport
- Doors/trunk: Open and close every one
- Lights: All headlights, tails, turn signals
- Charging port: Open and inspect
Interior Checklist
- Seats for stains/tears
- Touchscreen for dead pixels
- Trim fitment
- All USB ports
- Sound system at various volumes
- AC and heat
- All windows electronically
If You Find Issues
- Minor cosmetic: document with photos, report in app within 72 hours
- Major: you can reject delivery
- Gray area: accept, photograph, schedule service
